Gravity degree–depth relationship using point mass spherical harmonics

چکیده

SUMMARY Relationships between the degree of a spherical harmonic model gravitational field body and depth source expressed as density contrast can be used to study structure features. Here, we show that acceleration per constant has an extremum depends on source. Using harmonics expansion for point mass source, use this derive degree–depth relationship. Our relationship resembles earlier one derived by Bowin, with substantial differences at lower degrees. We also find recent Deng et al. overestimates depth. The relates n d planet radius R according $d = (1-e^{\frac{-1}{n+1}})R$, which simplifies R/(n + 1) high support our new synthetic models in planet. how Bowin affect band-filtered gravity, example when inspecting upper 100 km Moon. masses modelling results approximate where reality sources deeper than estimated, since any contributes all contribution individual however provides intuitive place relative bounds depths or determine expansions band-filtering gravity models.

Optical Rails. View-based Point-To-Point Navigation using Spherical Harmonics

We present a view-based method for steering a robot in a network of positions; this includes navigation along a prerecorded path, but also allows for arbitrary movement of the robot between adjacent positions in the network. The approach uses an upward-looking omnidirectional camera; even a very modest quality of the optical system is sufficient, since all views are represented in terms of low-...

Cone-beam image reconstruction using spherical harmonics.

Image reconstruction from cone-beam projections is required for both x-ray computed tomography (CT) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Grangeat's algorithm accurately performs cone-beam reconstruction provided that Tuy's data sufficiency condition is satisfied and projections are complete. The algorithm consists of three stages: (a) Forming weighted plane integrals by calcu...
